"Cree and Scooter Hit the Slopes in British Columbia (The Adventures of Cree and Scooter A Global Series)," book review by Ollamok AKA Sandra Lynn Mallo Adcock D.Ph. M.S.M.

Cree and Scooter Hit The Slopes in British Columbia (The Adventures of Cree and Scooter A Global Series) is a children's go go go book about far off lands and dreams.  The author and creative creator Tammy Sutton-Brown does an exacting job dancing to the tune of a double audience; that of parents and child. Normally I would state the goals of the writer and what she wants to accomplish by writing the book at first. However, I prefer to tell you what I saw first because you will be amazed at the agreement in what I found and her goals. 

The book is on tour as you might have guessed by the button on the top.  A little image underneath is all about being a honor parent to join a parent program of the community.  It is free and what I see is all good.  Please check it out.  

This book I am reviewing a free will review.  I obtained a free PDF of the book and get points for doing it.  Yet, there is no one telling me to say this, that or buy buy buy with pre-written statement given to me to post on this blog.

The series looked a lot like the Dora Explorer Series. I went and looked at some of those storybooks.  Cree and Scooter are nothing like that except they share travel adventure.  Dora books do convey some learning aspects but there are various authors.  

Ms. Sutton-Brown keeps a clear message and vision going in her book that I expect carries over into the next book Cree and Scooter Climb the Great Wall of China that is was released I believe this November 2013.

Cree and Scooter in BC was published in 2011, the ISNB is 978-1936449-17-0.  The Kindle price at Amazon is $6.99. A hard cover price at Amazon is $18.99.  Barnes and Noble had no hardcover advertised and the Nook edition was one dollar cheaper. I like to shop where I get both if I want.

Let me tell you what the book revealed to me as a parent.  This book was filled with wonderment for a child to be enchanted at having fun while learning. Some grownups call this Whole Language or Whole Learning. Let me bullet everything I see Ms. Sutton-Brown covering and how.

• Learning in a fun manner.
• Geography or children see it as far off lands
• Exercising the mind or children's imagination which leads creative ways of doing things and thinkers as adults.
• Cultures or Sociology and Psychology
• History
• Living or ways of this
• People Interaction (Social Skills which is great for those with Special Needs like Autism and so forth)
• Music via Song and Dance
• Inspiration in trailblazing
• How to handle crisis situations.
• Compassion and responsibility.
• Emotional growth.
• Mistakes are okay and this is part of learning.
• Appreciation for living and zest for life.
• Science and Biology
• History
• Vocabulary
• Definition Appendix foreign language listed in the back.

How about we take some direct quotes from Ms. Sutton-Brown's own reasons for wanting to write these books.  By the way I see what I can imagine is a lot of personality belonging to Ms. Sutton-Brown in Cree.  Which means she is a person to be admired.  Please see below for the following quotes as to what and why she wanted to do a children's book series. I would say Ms. Sutton-Brown has accomplished her goals if my list is this close to hers.  Any disagreement among us?

Mom's and dad's don't forget a free download activity book at the site http://creeandscooter.com/. It is on the Home menu at the very top.  I understand there is Cree and Scooter TV.  It may be isolated to Canada.  Mom's with Christmas coming there are products out there for little girls. Again check out the home page. Stumble around and browse. Christmas time is made for that.  This way your feet won't hurt as much.  Feel lucky, not that I don't love my Tanner man, but all women love shopping for little girls.

Cree and Scooter are partners in many noble causes which you can read about on the page also.  Ms. Sutton-Brown has plenty of Social Capital to bankroll some free advertisement which she deserves being socially responsible in her endeavors. Below is posted her biography.

A tip about safe social media for kids.  While checking on this book I found these you might want to glance at for safer kid's networking. The common sense media explains the specific and age appropriate social media networks. I hope you like them. I will only say this is the information I found.  You will have to do the parenting from here and decide for yourself it is right for your child. My son is 17 and way past the highest age these go to at 11. Have fun looking at alternative media.
